These funky paint flicked boots began their life as low key tan faux suade op shop booties, graduated to practical dusty black, and added a spring to their step by becoming paint bomb booties. Seems like anything can be a canvas.

The phrase button it takes on a whole new meaning when you check out the face of this Wasaroonian.

Recycled buttons and ripped sheets from the Nelson Recycling Centre have created a wildly funky face lift and hair restyling for the summer season.

Erika from Sweden let her inner artist rip literally to create this funky person.

The term WASA!ROONIAN was first coined by writer Anthea Whitlock for the funky she and her friend Kay made when her inner artist sneaked out at the promptings of the inaugural WASA!.

It's always so fun to see how inspiration can domino in wildly surprising directions that encourage creativity to sneak out of people and leave the world a richer place said Nickola Blunt WASA! director.

How to avoid sleeping with a drip...

One imagines you might just be left with egg on your cheek if you follow this formidable poultry racer, recently spotted appropriately parked outside a major egg producer in our Nelson region.

It leaves us pondering the possibility of terrorising chook racers letting out wild cackles, ruffling a few feathers and dropping their egg as they cross the finishing line with a flourish.

Yep, definitely something to crow about this one.

Perhaps the secret to high egg production is a quick lap round the track with the non-compliant/performing chickens?!

Fashion hopefuls

Outrageously gorgeous fashion styles are being sneaked out by Sally, Bev and Marg. These voluptuous straw fashionistas recently planted their latest winter styles, curvacious bodies and fab poses at the Place for Plants Nursery Ltd in Hope.

Keen to have a lasting impact on fashion individuality, they stay in these poses for hours amongst the fragrant plants and flowers. Looks like sunflowers are the latest fascinaters and serial handbag coordination is a must.

Curiously, there seems to be a facial resemblance here - sisters in style, or perhaps this is the latest popular model look...?

Insatiable appetite of ego

This moving feast of wisdom in Nelson's Buxton carpark reminds us when the insatiable appetite of the ego takes over and leaves us searching for answers in all the wrong places, and hungry for more crap or more full-of-it, then no body wins. Pig out on the smorgasbord of your own wisdom and guidance and you will feel full and happy and big enough to let others shine too. That's wicked alright.

How do you like your joinery?

Definitely not a wooden sense of humour spotted here in Nelson. In fact, this caused my friend to mutter that she could do with a bit of well hung joinery herself. It remains a mystery as to whether this name refers to the prowess of cupboard doors or the bestower of them, but we like to think that it's all finely finished.

Smart pigs might wanna fly. The sharp edge of making bacon just took on a whole new meaning with this wild collection of signage.

Aint no road hog

Hi-viz just got humourous with this plea for would be hedgehog terrorisers and other roadkill enthusiasts to look out for their milkie while on the road and keep the scary out of delivering dairy. And if you're a hedgehog, we strongly advise you to stay off the road.

Nayland Kindy collaborative art

Love this groove reminder from Nelson's Nayland Kindergarten to let the inner beauty sneak out of us all and see it in those around us. Nature is always a great prompter.

Godly humour thwarts shoplifters

The wit and wrath of god was evident in this hospice shop changing room in Bridge Street, Nelson. We love the light being shone on the subject in the top right hand corner as well. Truly an illuminating, innovative and humourous approach to encouraging customers to avoid making an oversized/inappropriate discount on their clothing purchase.

Banjo Bijou

Loving the gorgeous Banjo Bijou showcased in the Trouble and Fox window in Nelson's Bank Lane. Thanks Claire Ellery for your fab work, we look forward to seeing more.

Crazy paving

The whole of Elliott Street in central Nelson got re-sealed today, presumably to look spic and span for a certain large rugby event coming up at Trafalgar Park later this year... except just this one little bit that is. We like to think of it as wildly sneaky creative road work art work.

Legless

Spotted, a convention of wild and sneaky aprons looking for legs. Can you match the legs to an apron, or even your legs to an apron? Clearly, if you are tired of your current proportions there are all sorts of epic proportions to choose from. Cooking may never be the same again. We think Jeanette Marlow's novelty aprons at Nelson's Saturday morning market are wildly wonderful and fun.

Stunt grunt

The Wild Nitro Flashback Stunt car was raring to roar out at Gourdie Automotive Ltd on Waimea Road yesterday. Gourdie’s are the home of wild sneaky auto creativity, their cars are legendary feats of colour and engine grunt. I was wildly in awe of the purple sparkly nitro tanks, maxed out exhaust system and pink fixtures - apologies in advance to the more mechanically literate among you.

Imagine if we lived life with this kind of wild gassed up gorgeousness, flair, abandon and colour, and expressed it with the kind of oomph that purrs and growls under the bonnet of one of those machines.
